Designate Spotlight – Kareen Rekowski, MFA

Knowledge Bureau is pleased to spotlight Kareen Rekowski, a recent MFA designate graduate with honours achievement. Hear her story...

Kareen completed her MFA-Succession and Estate Planning Services Specialist in October 2013 and was one of 25 designates who were recognized for their achievements at a special Graduate Ceremony at the Distinguished Advisor Conference in Ojai, CA this past November.

On the value of her designation, she says, "I was looking to learn and build upon my existing skills. I required more knowledge in estate and succession planning. Each course provided me with valuable information which I’ve applied personally and professionally to better assist my clientele."

In December 2008, as an experienced personal and corporate tax practitioner, Kareen started her own business – KARE Accounting Services. She also acts as the Chief Finance Officer at Renfrew and Area Seniors’ Home Support Inc. which is a charitable organization offering support to both seniors and adults with disabilities. 

In November 2012, she was recognized as a caregiver and received the Heroes in the Home Award from the Champlain Community Care Access Centre.

In her spare time, Kareen enjoys downhill skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and kayaking.
