Knowledge Bureau Author David Christianson Named Fellow of FPSC

Congratulations to David Christianson, Vice-President of National Bank Financial Wealth Management, on achieving his recent distinction as Fellow of FPSC.

The Fellow of FPSC™ is a distinction that formally recognizes individuals who have helped advance the Financial Planning Standards Council of Canada’s vision of seeing Canadians improve their lives by engaging in financial planning.

David is a distinguished member of the Knowledge Bureau faculty. He will act as Master of Ceremonies at our 10th Annual Distinguished Advisor Conference this November in Ojai, California. He is also author of Managing the Bull: Detect and Deflect the Crap.

A practicing financial planner since 1982, David is recognized as a pioneer in fee-for-service financial planning and portfolio management in Canada. In 2012, David’s team and their clients joined NBF Wealth Management, where they manage all of the financial affairs for a select group of high net worth clients. All compensation is fee-based.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Personal Finance columnist  in the Winnipeg Free Press since 1994.
  • David was lead author of both the Code of Professional Ethics and the Professional Standards of Practice for the Institute of Advanced Financial Planners.

  • MC of the Distinguished Advisor Conference, 2011, 2012 and 2013

WORK-LIFE ACTIVITIES

David is an active musician, performing regularly with the classic rock band Highway 59, and is also passionate about sailing, sail racing, downhill skiing and his wife Vera. They have two children, Sarah and Taylor.
